Treadmill buying guide
Four things worth understanding before you buy.
In plain words. Then book a test drive and talk it through with the team that delivers and installs it. Compare any of these 25 side by side.

Deck size
The running surface, width by length. Walkers are comfortable on a shorter deck; runners and taller users want more length so a long stride never reaches the motor hood. Decks in this collection run 20 to 22 in wide and 50 to 62 in long.

Motor
Look for continuous horsepower: what the motor holds for a whole workout, not a peak number. AC motors are built for long daily hours in clubs and gyms; DC and brushless motors are common at home. Heavier users and longer runs ask more of the motor.

Cushioning
Cushioning softens each landing, and every brand builds it differently. How it feels under your stride matters more than its name on a spec sheet, so try two or three before you decide.

Clearance
Plan open floor around the deck: at least 39 in behind and about 20 in on each side, per ASTM F2115 as cited in Spirit commercial treadmill manuals. Use Fits my room above; our installer confirms final placement.
